Nurturing Expectant Teenage Mothers
Expecting mothers have what is called the nesting instinct, an urge in pregnant women to prepare a home for the upcoming nester(s). This is the time they clean their homes and prepare for their newborn. However, teen years in not the appropriate age for pregnancy.
NEST provides mentoring support to teenage mothers through counseling, alternative learning system, infant care and values education; and nutritional support like feeding and vitamin supplementation to prepare them in their new phase in life called motherhood.
