February 2 – the plan to conduct a Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) orientation to ICoC Butuan, ended up facilitating Child Protection and Disaster Risk Reduction orientation with the staff of the City Social Welfare and Development (CSWD). Through the connection of Malou Bajaro, a local volunteer from ICoC Butuan, she was able to link HOPE worldwide to one of the staff from the CSWD office. CSWD expressed interests that they wanted both Child Protection and Disaster Risk Reduction be facilitated to their department.
CSWD Butuan had an attendance of 42 participants. Fifteen participants both attended the orientation on Child Protection and Disaster Risk Reduction. The orientation with ICoC Butuan had an attendance of eight participants.
Five participants from Village88, the organization’s partner in website development joined the orientation.
