Devic Gonzales became our first beneficiary in Buenasuerte, Nabas Aklan. She started her small hydroponics setup in May 2022. With the livelihood support that she received, she was able to earn extra income for her family. She learned how to grow lettuce, a high-value crop, using hydroponics.
According to Devic, “hydroponics started as an alternative source of income, now it became our bread and butter”, their primary source of income.
Devic is grateful for the opportunity provided by the program. She is committed to helping other families by sharing her knowledge on hydroponics system. To date, she helped five of her neighbours setup their hydroponics system so that they can provide additional income for their families too.
And because she is an empowered individual, we gave her the privilege of becoming a partner of the program to help more families have their hydroponics project. Through her, the hydroponics have crossed the province of Antique and helped one family became our beneficiary.
When one person is empowered, he will find a way to help others!
